Donna Price and Heidi Zednik owned and operated The Dirty Hoe Landscaping & Gardening from 2005 until December 2011. Donna and Melissa Penley originally started The Dirty Hoe in 2004. In early 2011, Michael Talbot joined the company primarily with the intent of continuing the business, after Donna and Heidi move to Austria. Donna and Heidi are relocating to the Traunsee area (Austria) in spring 2012. In 2011 they cofounded the group studio/gallery ARThaus4 in Gmunden (Austria) along with photographer Anette Friedel-Prenninger, and painter Sylvia Vorwagner. Christopher Watts is an intrepid explorer and traveler. In addition to being a dirty hoe crew member, he is a working massage therapist, specializing in intuitive energy work and neuromuscular therapy. He can be reached at Listening Hands 828-778- 2185. He also enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, swimming, paddling and cooking. He lives in Weaverville with his cat. |

Marc is an ethnobotanist with an avid interest in the interface between plants and people. Marc has studied the plant world for close to ten years learning how to use plants for food, medicine, crafts, and beauty. He has traveled to almost every state in the U.S. and many countries in Europe taking note of the varying plant communities and ecosystems along the way. Marc received a Bachelor's degree from Warren Wilson College majoring in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Sustainable Agriculture and a minor in Business. Marc relishes sharing the knowledge of the plant world with any and all who are interested. He is an engaging teacher who always seeks to furnish people with easy take home messages and resources for further exploration and education. Besides education Marc is at various times employed as a Landscaper/Gardener and Chef. |

Rebecca (Becca) Elish worked
with the Dirty Hoe for several months. During that time she lived and
also worked at Windhorse Zen Community. Her future plans include traveling
to Europe and Canada and possibly studying Landscape Architecture. |

Amelia Uffelman, Warren Wilson alum and talented writer, left the Dirty Hoe in 2006 to relocate to Charlottesville, VA. Following her husband Drew’s completion of nursing school, they plan to return to Asheville in 2008. |

Meghan Burke, soccer phenomenon, left the Dirty Hoe in 2006 to move to St. Louis to assist in the fundraising and realization of a women’s professional soccer team. She has recently relocated to Boston with her partner Jasmine Beach-Ferrara to enroll in Law School. |

Sara Waterman has lived and worked with plants in Louisiana,
Mississippi, and Ohio, mindfully producing food on farms and even
on an old parking lot in the city! She has shared the
joy of raising vegetables, flowers, mushrooms, bees, and worms with
folks of all ages. Home-baked bread and good old New Orleans
music also bring smiles and even a little wigglin'. With great
respect for the fellow Hoes and the knowledge they readily share,
she's glad to find such a home in Asheville. |

Rachel studied sustainable agriculture at Sterling College, followed by running a farm of her own in Pennsylvania. Rachel stills remains active and interested in gardening and local eating. She looks forward to studying holistic nutrition in the fall of 2008. In addition to working with The Dirty Hoe, Rachel practices locally as a Certified Health and Nutrition Coach. She enjoys teaching on seasonal eating and cooking, allergy elimination, and introducing clients to the guilt-free pleasures of whole foods. |

Beckett is a native of Asheville and a part-time poodle hoe. Her specialties include retrieving, tool guarding, and crew amusement. Beckett’s earlier employment ranges from assistant college registrar and office manager to part-time realtor. Her communication skills with adults, children and cats are superb. |
