LONG TERM PROJECTS :: Kjellstrom
Residence
When we first visited the Kjellstrom residence we could barely see the house it was so overgrown. The first goal was to reclaim the landscape and remove all the English ivy on the property. This was accomplished by first digging out the ivy and then sheet mulching the areas. All invasive plant material was removed, along with dead shrubs and trees. Many of the existing shrubs were dug up and replanted in new locations. In addition, many shrubs, small trees and perennials were transplanted from the client’s former residence at Lake Toxaway. Stone walk ways and a dry stack wall along the front of the property added structure and visual interest. The final goal for the Kjellstrom landscape is for it to become a painter’s paradise, complete with permanent sculpture and greatly varying plants throughout the seasons. |
